I am going to hack together a quick website on Replit to accept Payment for my hodlBlocks.
Tonight’s writing will show how quickly one can hack this together. For context I used a couple of paid and free technologies to get this site live including Nostr.build, Replit, FormSubmit, and Gmail.
First thing I did was give the Replit AI agent this prompt to build me a base.
Then it made a great starter page and I said this.
Next I went to formsubmit.co to make it easy to collect form data. I also asked the AI to price this for 9700 sats instead of $6.90. Make more sense to value this in bitcoin instead of fiat. I also decided the time required to take these to the post office and buy shipping makes around ~ten dollars worth of bitcoin (at this current moment in time) seem like a fair price to me. It’s going up forever so maybe I will drop the price in sats one day. Time will tell.
I fed the FormSubmit docs to Replit’s agent builder and included my email so my site knew where to send a submitted form. Boom we were in business and had a working form on our website. I then deployed the website after some nice proooompting to style the website as I liked and the website can be found here if you want to buy a hodl block: https://hodlblocksbyconorchepenik.replit.app/
I have a lot of work to do on this app, but it’s live. You can officially buy hodl blocks from me and do so as a stranger. You will need a PO box, burner email, and some sats to do so. You also don’t have to be an anon to buy. Just saying it’s amazing that peer-to-peer money and the internet allowed me to build a website in one night and accept payment for 3D printed goods and my favorite quotes written down as hand written notes.
What a freaking time to be alive right now. Bullish on the builders.
